One of its most famous figures is Nai Khanom Tom, known for his legendary victories in the 18th century. Over time, it shifted from a military necessity to a cultural pastime, and by the 1930s, it became a regulated sport with international boxing rules, gloves, and rounds. Today, it's recognized as Thailand's national sport and a popular martial art around the world.
